Travelling to Italy
Italy is officially open to UK travellers without the need for quarantine, provided that you present a negative antigen test or PCR & can show proof of the NHS Vaccinations (They call it a Green Card but the UK vaccinations are officially recognized). This is done via the NHS APP but you can also get this sent to you in the post if you would prefer a printed version (phone 119) and have your NHS number ready. It will take 5 days to come.
You will also need to fill in the online form (essentially just a passenger locator form with your name / address etc) while in Italy: https://app.euplf.eu/#/
Entry to Italy from the UK
From 31 August, travellers from the UK can enter Italy without being required to quarantine if they have proof of vaccination and a negative test taken within 48 hours before entering Italy.
If you wish to fly, you must present the airline with a negative COVID-19 rapid antigenic or molecular swab test taken no more than 48 hours before travel.

Getting the test
You can book a PCR test online which you do at home & send off two days before flying. Ryanair use Randox & have discount codes for them. Otherwise there are a list of suppliers here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1013943/covid-private-testing-providers-general-testing-270821_.csv/preview
However, the most convenient way, especially given that Italy do not require a PCR test, would be to test at Stansted Airport using the Rapid Antigen Test. You get results in 40 minutes & can book online here:

Coming back from Italy
The easiest way to get a test to fly back from Lamezia would be to book a test in the airport. In Italy they call it a tampon, but dont worry, it isnt..The result is immediate. We will be bringing some lateral flow tests with us that people can take if they are concerned & want peace of mind before going to the airport!
To book it, you can go here: https://docvg.it/#prenota
Entry into the UK
Returning from Italy (Amber) you need to fill out the form online from 2 days before you travel back:

You will also need to book a Day 2 PCR test. The booking code will be used as the reference code when filling in the above form
Please see above supplier list for Day 2 testing.
